My New Camera

I am very excited - I got a new camera. Our first and only other digital camera is about 5 years old, it was a Sony Cybershot, and when we got it - it was AWESOME! However, technology changes, the number of MP get bigger, and our little camera was just not performing the way we wanted it to. And, I can't seem to find it ANYWHERE in my house. So, when the opportunity to sign up for a class came up, I decided we should take the plunge, and get a grown up camera.

It came the other day, and it's so pretty - but I don't know what the HECK I am doing. I have taken the dumbest pictures (of my pedicure, of Troy trying to get away from me, of my kids wanting to act like ding-dongs!).

A funny little side note - we went to dinner at Troy's sisters house, and she just started a new job, so I haven't talked to her as much as I usually do. Anyway...here was our conversation...

Me - "Guess what - I got a new camera!"
Tracy - "Me Too!"
Me - "I got a digital SLR!!"
Tracy - "Me Too!!"
Me - "What's Yours? I got a Canon!!!"
Tracy - "Me Too!!!

It was really funny, it ends up we both got the EXACT same camera, without even knowing that the other one did too!

I am excited to learn all about it, and hopefully you will see some improved pictures posted here in the next little while!

Nick the Ladies Man!!

Nick has ALWAYS loved the "ladies", and he has always told us about his crushes. For a few months now it has been this girl named Lucy (she is adorable by the way...). I also hear quite often from the school librarian & others that the girls just LOVE Nick! They want to sit by him, have him chase them, and want him to come to their houses to play.

For Christmas, Ash & Nick each got a Firefly cell phone - (I know, I know...we are totally technology geeks!!) - Well, today he comes home and says "Do you want to see the wallpaper on my phone?". I of course say yes, and what do you know - there is a picture of Lucy on his phone!! I am going to have to keep my eye on him!!

I have been waiting & waiting, and I just heard that Twilight the movie will open Dec 12th. IF you go onto the website www.stepheniemeyer.com or www.twilightlexicon.com it shows who is playing all the rest so far. I know I'm a geek. I can't help it!

The 4th book in the twilight series, Breaking Dawn, goes on sale at 12:01 a.m. Aug 2nd. (You can already pre-order it!)

She has another book being released, for adults, entitled the Host, which features an alien species that takes over the minds of their human hosts, comes out May 6th. I loved Ender's Game, so this may be a good book...

It's All Sugar!!!

I have been a little obsessed with the Food Network lately - especially the "Challenges" - cakes, chocolate, sugar, etc...My kids are lucky to get a cake with sprinkles on it - but some of those cakes are AMAZING! I am a little jealous that I don't have that much creativity or know how - but I know some people who do (and you know who you are!!)

All weekend I kept bringing kids over to see the different cakes & candy sculptures, and saying "It's All Sugar!" - Troy is tired of hearing it from me, and seeing all the different Food Network shows on our Tivo.

Requests...

For Christmas, we got a yummy "Chex Mix" that had craisins, nuts, Cheerios, Chex and it was coated in white chocolate & sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar...it was DIVINE! Needless to say there were too many things in there that my people didn't like, so I got it all to myself!! Anyway...I want to make some of it, and I have been trying to find the recipe EVERYWHERE, and can't find it. The person who gave it to me is out of town all week, and I am craving it NOW!!

Anyone every heard of this and have the recipe?!?!?
