Rock On!!

So, I think I have only been to 3 concerts in my whole life...
  1. Depeche Mode when I was 14 (what were my parents thinking?!?!)
  2. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young when I was a Sr. in High School
  3. Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick - LAST NIGHT!!

We went with some friends from the neighborhood..

We laughed, people watched, sang along, and Troy and his "concert wife" danced...

While my "concert husband" and I sat back & watched...

It was a blast!! I had forgotten how much I loved their songs!!
So, next time you see me, don't be suprised if I am wearing a Journey T-shirt!

What's a Parade?

We have NEVER been to the East Millcreek 4th of July parade. We got a lot of heat from the neighborhood this year, and decided it was time to take the family.

When we woke Jon up to get ready to go, I said "You need to get up so we can go to the parade", to which Jon replied "What's a parade?". How sad. It really was fun, and he just couldn't get over how much candy people were throwing to him!

In general, I try to make it a point to never be photographed. This is for several reasons (my soul being stolen by the camera, that the camera adds 10 {or 110 in my case} pounds, etc...But, yesterday at the parade, a friend of ours stopped and took a family picture, so I thought I would share this historic moment with you.

All By Myself

For years now, whenever Troy has been out of town, it is just a given that Ashley will be sleeping in my bed with me. (Not by my choice).

Well, Troy has been gone since Monday, and Ashley left to Mill Hollow on Wednesday. So, for the first time in years, I got to sleep in my bed ALL BY MYSELF!!

Nothing better than sleeping smack dab in the middle of a king size bed!!

Too bad it only lasted one night. Last night my little angel woke up because his toe hurt, and I was too tired to take him back downstairs. And both Troy & Ashley get back today, so I am back to sharing my room - the Troy part, I'm ok with, it's the Ashley sleeping on my floor that I am not looking forward to...

Thank Heavens He's Cute

I thought about doing a photo spread of the damage that our precious child has caused over his short life, but then I realized it would not make me look like a very good Mother (more like C.P.S. enemy #1).

So, instead I thought I would post this picture of the little angel instead, to remind me how dang cute he is...

Oh Yes He DID!!!

I belileve that it was the end of April, when I so proudly displayed our new...GREEN...grass in our yard. I have showed pictures of Troy proudly mowing the grass, with our precious 3 year old following along in his father's footsteps. We have watered it, and mowed it, and it is GORGEOUS!!

Or should I say WAS...

Bless his little heart - the above mentioned 3 year old decided it would be a good idea to spray weed killer on the lawn...

I am sure that several questions are running through your mind -
Q. "Where did he get his scrawny little hands on weed killer?"
A. We have no shed right now, so all yard care items are on the back patio in a box.

Q. "Where was his mother during this time?
A. Honestly, I don't know - but this boy works like the wind, he did it within a few minutes one day.

Q. "Is he in still alive after we found out?"
A. Yes, merely for the fact that (1) His Dad realizes that he should have put the stuff up in the garage and (2) His Mom was home at the time, and must be a horrible mother, because she didn't see it happening.

Aren't kids the best!

I've Never Wanted Him More...

No, this is not a clip from "My Big Redneck Wedding"...

My spouse started his day Saturday with a 26 mile bike ride and a 5 mile run (he's in training for a triathlon)
- as soon as he got back from that, he threw on some shorts, and his work boots, and went on to remove about 500 lbs. of asphalt, and level the spot in our backyard for his Father's Day present - he's getting a Tuff Shed!

Then when that was done, he spent 1 1/2 hours mowing the lawn, and then helped clean off the back patio/deck.

That was all done by 1:00pm - the man may not be a fashion guru, but he is a working machine!!

The Prince and the Pea

So, we still have not bought any furniture for our house - except for 3 LoveSacs for the kids downstairs. You see, we got tired of them never going down there to watch TV, and their big complaint was that they didn't want to sit on the floor.

Ever since we got them, the downstairs is a VERY popular place to be...They watch TV, they play video games, they move them around so they can jump from the stairs onto them, they stack them into a big pile
and the littlest person in the family climbs on, and falls asleep...
